Our initial in-country trip ran from May 12 to July 9, 2007 with Mr. Ruei travelling from Omaha, Nebraska, USA to Ethiopia and Southern Sudan. He established government and private connections in the regional capital of Juba and district capital of Malakal, and performed initial site survey work in the Maiwut district (south-east Sudan) for future well-drilling efforts. Plans to work with Operation Nehemiah's existing well-drilling work in their service-area of south-central Sudan were cancelled due to early onset of the annual rainy season.
